This school offers the courses which integrated the Music Education, Music performance and Music Administration together. The school focuses on cultivating practical, versatile, original-type talents, so that students can get nourishment from many different disciplines. Education should face the future, so the school produced more outstanding complex talents for the society, training a new generation of educator with modern, innovative thoughts.
The school currently has 8 classrooms, 50 pianos, 7 sets of double keyboard, and 40 piano practicing rooms, 3 rehearsal halls, which totally can meet students’ requirements of learning, practicing and holding concerts. In order to enable students to versatile talents, the school also offers multimedia computer courses and MIDI courses. There are 50 full-time faculties, among them, professors and associate professors account for 70%.
In the past decade, the school gained great achievements in discipline building, faculty restructure. The students of this school received almost every award of national musical instruments competition, international Chinese folk instruments competition, Asia Youth Music competition, Chinese arts new stars competition, etc. They were invited to participate some national party and programs, such as “Xiyanghong” CCTV, “Red songs for Chinese new year” CCTV, a large chorus singing for the 60th anniversary of National Day. Guiding by our teaching philosophy, the school constantly explore and practice to gradually form the teaching system of culminating the characteristics of Music Educational discipline and more adaptable teaching methods, which were concerned and acclaimed by some experts in the field of music education.
