The 2nd International Forum on the Development of China’s Musical Theatre & the 5th Symposium on Teaching and Creation of China’s Musical Theatre, which is co-hosted by the Arts Department of Ministry of Culture of the P.R.C., China Society for Musical Theatre Studies, Teaching Committee of China Society for Musical Theatre Studies, and Beijing Contemporary Music Academy (CMA), was held at CMA on December 2, 2011. A total of over 350 persons were invited to attend the event, including domestic producers, actors/actresses, experts, and scholars active in the musical theatre field, overseas music theatre professionals from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, and Taiwan, and presidents and academic leaders of over 100 higher education institutions nationwide, giving in-depth exchange and exploration with regard to the writing, localization, and talent fostering of music theatre.
