You Jingbo is the member of Pop Music Society of Chinese Musicians Association, Deputy Director of Music Education Committee of Pop Music Society, and the member of Music Copyright Society of China. At his early age, he learned composition from famous composer Li Yuqiu, studied harmony with Italian music theorist Fabrizio, and followed notable music educationist Chen Baohu to learn vocal music. He published over ten books on pop music, such as the History and Style of Pop Music, Writing Course for Pop Songs, and Pop Vocal Techniques, and released two personal albums, Carrying the Minor to the End and My Songs, in which he wrote and sung all of songs himself. Nowadays, he teaches the History of Western Pop Music, the History of Chinese Pop Music, Song Writing, and Lyrics Writing.
